Health centre project in Timmins

The Francophone community of Timmins has advocated for a French language community health Centre, for the past 20 years. In the spring of 2017, the North East LHIN confirmed funding for a cost-benefit analysis for a potential health centre.

The Timmins Francophone Primary Care Collaborative Committee was created to complete the analysis by January 2018. The analysis is to cover details and projections regarding the services to be offered, the funding model and level of funding required, a human resources plan, the governance model and so on. The committee’s mandate will expire no later than the summer of 2018. Of course, the Commissioner intends to follow the outcome of this project and the results of the committee’s work with the LHIN and the community.
