Chapter 4
An Exemplary Story
4.1.7 Leadership training in French
From October 11 to 13, 2012, 20 secondary school students from the Conseil scolaire de district catholique de l’Est ontarien and the Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario attended an 18-hour leadership course provided by the Fédération de la jeunesse franco-ontarienne (FESFO) at the University of Guelph. The initiative was supported by the Réseau de développement économique et d’employabilité de l’Ontario (RDÉE Ontario) and the Rural Ontario Institute, in collaboration with school boards, FESFO and the Élargir l’espace francophone [expanding the vitality of the Francophone community] initiative, which is supported by the Ministry of Education and coordinated by the Centre canadien de leadership en evaluation (CLÉ). The course was also offered in Welland, in partnership with the Centre de santé communautaire de Hamilton-Niagara.
