Information Hub on Constitutional Language Rights

The Information Hub on Constitutional Language Rights www.rightsconnect.ca was launched recently by the Language Rights Support Program (LRSP) in an effort to enable official language community members to understand the underlying concepts related to constitutional language rights and acquire general knowledge about their language rights.

Users can access information on the right to communicate with governments and receive services in both official languages, the right to education in the language of the minority, the right to use both official languages in Parliament legislatures and before the court, and special projects developed every year for various official language communities.

The LRSP aims to promote constitutional language rights across Canada. The creation of the Information Hub on Constitutional Language Rights is part of this objective.

Since 2010, the dedicated team at the LRSP has travelled to various official language communities in Canada and has given numerous presentations and workshops on language rights. In addition, the LRSP has developed a multitude of educational materials to complement the presentations and workshops given. These educational materials are now accessible through the Information Hub on Constitutional Language Rights website.

I therefore invite you to take a look at this excellent new online resource at www.rightsconnect.ca!
