Meeting with the members of RECFO and FESFO’s Representation Council
Last Saturday in Ottawa, I took part in the Regroupement des élèves conseillers francophones de l’Ontario’s (RECFO) members meeting, hosted along with the Fédération de la jeunesse franco-ontarienne’s (FESFO) Representation Council.
RECFO and FESFO are two extremely solid organizations and I must say this event was perfectly organized. I wish to thank them both for their invitation, their generosity (I had the chance to spend a great deal of time with them!) and their open and productive discussion approach. I can only be highly impressed when a student is capable of describing the difference between formal and substantive equality. Without any doubt, we had a great conversation. Among other things, we discussed the role of Franco-Ontarian youth in the education sector and the importance for them to be provided with a better access to French-language postsecondary education in our province. As a result, I returned home invigorated and motivated once again!
RECFO is composed of 21 student trustees from Ontario’s 12 French-language school boards. As to FESFO’s Representation Council, it has twenty 13 to 18 year old leaders.
Once again, bravo and thank you to RECFO and FESFO!
