Sault Ste-Marie

Last Thursday I was in Sault Ste-Marie to meet with all directors of hospitals of the Northeast Ontario where I could transmit some key messages, especially concerning the importance toactively offer French Language services. I obviously took the opportunity to meet with some youth from the Notre-Dame-des-Grands-Lacs school as well as members of the Francophone community. I think we came a long way in acceptance of Francophonie in Sault and it is a credit to the community not to have stopped fighting and assert its importance. Moreover, the community has received subsidies from the Trillium Foundation to develop a project to build a community school center that could become an integrated place for French Language services, including in health sector.
